Abstract
In this study, the electrodeposition method was used to synthesis cobalt disulfide nanoparticles (NPs). The reaction conditions were optimized to fabricate NPs with minimum size. The role of reaction factors and their optimal conditions were determined by Taguchi method. Next, the NPs were characterized using UV-Vis spectrophotometry, X-ray diffraction, FT-IR, FESEM, TEM, and TGA. The characterization results showed that the average size of optimal cobalt disulfide NPs is 15 nm, which totally is matched with the results of Taguchi. Also, the photocatalytic property of the cobalt disulfide NPs was evaluated. The results of photocatalytic inspection of NPs under UV light showed that the degradation of methyl orange after 50 min is about 98.
