Abstract

Aims: Evaluation of patient satisfaction (PS) is one of the basic components of the quality of health systems. Accordingly, this study has been conducted to analyze the validity and reliability of Telephone Based Satisfaction Questionnaire of Baqiyatallah Inpatient (TBSQ). Methods: This study was carried out on 731 inpatients admitted to Baqiyatallah Hospital during 2011 and 2012. Inpatients were selected by proportional stratified sampling method. In this study after checking content validity, the confirmatory and explanatory factor analysis and alpha method were utilized to examine construct validity and reliability respectively. Data were analyzed by SPSS and AMOS programmer version 18th. Results: The obtained samples consist of 397(54.3) women and 334 (45.7) men. The explanatory factor analysis showed 5 factors with 77 total variance and 0.77 Kaser-Meyer-Olkin Index. The result also confirmed by the confirmatory factor analysis (RMSEA=0.04, GFI=0.95, AGFI=0.93). Reliability was measured 0.81 via Cronbach's Alpha method. Conclusion: TBSQ appears to be a valid and reliable tool for assessing inpatient satisfaction and can be used in these situations.
