Abstract
Polycaprolactone triol (PCL-T) is one of the distinguished materials, which recently has been used in a wide range, from fabricating polymeric composites to bio-inspired applications, including tissue engineering, actuators, artificial skin, drug delivery system, and so forth. Bio application makes up approximately all of the health within the living organisms. The biomaterials are required to be sturdy and/or durable in structures such as bones, tendons, and ligaments. Besides, PCL-T being one of the most available alcohols that provide tensile strength (in polyurethane and other materials) via crosslinking interactions to design desirable architecture. Therefore, biomimetic materials containing PCL-T gained widespread acceptance in clinical applications. Indeed, PCL-Ts are regularly utilized for numerous purposes as they offered in a wide range of compositions, characteristics, and intricate structures. Because of polyester-based materials, they have a potential array for biomedical utilizations. Due to versatile features of the elongated fibrils and comprehensive industrial and biomedical utilization, including biocompatibility of PCL-T, this review sheds light on PCL-T-based materials with their likely applications, mainly focusing the bio-medical field.
