Abstract
A planning model was used to guide the design of a randomized control trial to determine the effectiveness of tailored interventions to increase safe behavior and to decrease unsafe behaviors among petrochemical workers. PRECEDE-PROCEED model was, in form of a committee along focus groups and observation training to increase and consistency safe behaviors. The results show that workers in intervention groups from baseline to follow-up have an increase percentage of safe behavior (42.62 to 76.51). The mean unsafe behavior in the intervention groups from baseline to follow-up shows a significant decrease in compare with control groups. The PRECEDE-PROCEED model proved a useful framework for designing an intervention in the occupational setting. © EuroJournals Publishing, Inc. 2008.
